FURNITURE PLACEMENT
Furniture placement can greatly change the feel of a room and how well it fulfills its primary purpose. Consider some common furniture placement goals:
- A room’s furniture should be balanced: Having too much furniture or setting large pieces in the wrong places may make a room feel crowded.
- Furniture placement aligns with its function: For example, in a bedroom, a dresser needs to be placed where the drawers will be able to be opened with ease; or in a dining room the table and chair height must be coordinated.
- Problem solving: Every space presents some unique opportunities for arranging furniture. A larger room can be “zoned” so that groups of people can use the room for multiple functions at the same time.
